I'm extracting DNA from various bull tissues and there are some that don't work with a spin column kit, like brain tissue that contains a lot of lipids. For those, we do Phenol-chloroform extractions. For the first time, our lab is extracting DNA from bull testis (not sperm) and I was wondering if anyone had ever had success (or failure) with spin kits on testis tissue. Specifically, we use Thermo Scientific GeneJet kit.
