The major enhancement in results for our lab is that we analyze 200 cells per slide instead of 100 in the manual approach.
We only use the WBC module.
If you are going to use the RBC and PLT modules, you really have to validat it well, because the system uses only a limited area of the slide. It it can still be necessary to analyze the slides manually, in certain cases If you use the ICT connection in which results are automatically put forward to your lab results system, you erradicate the errors made with manually reporting the results.
Aparyt from this, it is only a (very helpfull) which helps the lab technician analyzing the slides, and it enhances the speed.
You stlll have to flag manually, and the quality control mechanism, the location check is only a check of apparatus itself.
So, in my opinion it is a very helpfull and reliable tool, but the real quality is still in the hands of you technicians. And within the rules you make in your lab regarding the difficult cases.
