I am working on a project related to cardiovascular diseases. I just started my sampling. I take blood sample in Gel coated vaccutainer as I need serum to perform biochemical tests by myself in my lab.
In hospital (from where i am collecting my samples), these is no -80 or -30 degree freezer, they only have fridge. It takes me almost 5 hours to collect samples and take them back to lab. then i immediately separate the serum and do biochemical tests. during those 5 hours i keep samples in icebox. can this effect values of different metabolites?
can I store separated serum at -30 degree for one or two days before performing tests?
what is the reliability of Triglyceride and LDL tests done in non-fasting condition?

To my knowledge you can store it at -30 for a month but constant freezing and thawing of the serum will definitely affect the quality plan in such way that you perform your assays with one or two days. For transporting use both ice packs with small ice cubes or dry ice.
To my knowledge and research experience you can store the serum at -30 degree upto 5 months. You can use the serum for biochemical analysis.
If you keep your samples in an icebox be careful that there is no direct contact of ice and vaccutainer because it might happen that the blood is freezing and the erythrocytes will lyse (increasing potassium, LDH ...). After centrifugation you can of course store the samples at -30°C but as recommended by Vishnu you should avoid freezing-shawing cycles, better to prepare several aliquots.
LDL measurement will not be influenced by the fasting status, only triglycerides will be higher in the non-fasting situation (due to the chylomicrons which contain predominantly triglycerides and only few cholesterol). At the moment there is an ongoing discussion whether it is necessary to take fasting blood samples for lipid analysis or not (if you are interested look for articles of Borge Nordestgaard).
You may store your serum at -30 0C as has been said for up to 5mths without the freezing and thawing cycle as have been mentioned.

you can store those samples at that temperature for up to a month .Triglyceride is a storage form of carbohydrate so if one eat( i.e the person is not fasting before the sample is taken) for it will definitely affects the triglyceride value
