Protein supplements (Human serum & Lipid-rich albumin) are all limited by their cost. An ideal solution could be to have a cheaper supplement like BSA capable of sustaining the parasite continuous culture. Can BSA really sustain continuous culture of malaria parasite?

Most likely not... Whereas e.g. FBS is a mix of several hundred components, including Amino Acids, Vitamins, Hormones etc., BSA is just a single protein, that won't have any nutritional value unless your organisms secrete proteases. If you culture Plasmodia, you have to keep the erythrocytes happy in your culture, for which BSA alone won't suffice. Hope that helps.
