Can we replace the MgSO4 with MgCl? We know that a Krebs solution is composed of multiple chemical compounds (Salt) one of them being MgSO4. In some papers they use MgCl instead of MgSO4. Is this correct, and what is the role of both of them in buffer krebs solutions?

Krebs buffer is supposed to mimic extracellular fluid. However, people have fiddled with the ionic composition of Krebs over the years. When you start swapping out SO4 for Cl or vice versa, you're affecting the excitability of the tissue in the bath. It has been argued that when you're manipulating Krebs' composition, the [K][Cl] product should remain constant.
