We are trying to express GFP and RFP on the chromosome of two different bacteria, which will be used for tracking the bacterial cells upon inoculation on plant. Any suggestion about the best kits would be highly appreciated!
First, I am sorry that I'm not able to completely understand your question. I am mentioning my experience with gfp tansfer. Kits are expensive and there are few easy ways of transformation if you already have the gfp containing plasmid.
1. If you already have the gfp expressing plasmid, heat shock or triparental mating is easy as I understand (if would help if you gave the species of bacteria you plan to transform into).
2. If you do not have a gfp expressing plasmid, you can request it from others which many will be happy to share. All the very best. Hope this was of some help.
