We have a novel strain whose 16S rRNA has been already submitted to NCBI. Now, we want to publish this information in some journal. Can anyone help me in this regard. I have checked Genome Announcement Journal but I am not sure that they accept papers based on 16S rRNA information.

you also need some housekeeping gene to sequence before claiming its novel strain...You can publish its other characters (phytoremidiation etc) as well but not as novel strain
The options for new species/novel strains are traditionally IJSEM or SAM..both would require addition data like DNA hybridization, GC contect, lipid profile etc.
you can get this done on payment basis at centres like DSMZ or CCUG.
Novel species based on 16S could be sent to IJSEM. But novel strain? you must do a whole genome sequence to unleash what is novel.
