I am new to FEDEM Windpower software. I am working on optimization of an offshore Wind Turbine structure. Therefore, I need to club Matlab with FEDEM Windpower. Can we have an open source for non commercial work (Student).
Please share your views about capability and availability for the same.

You may look at the chapter 5 and the Appendix B of the following H. Molde's work available at http://www.diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva2:566218/FULLTEXT01.pdf with the matlab codes you may adapt.
Essentially you need to build an interface from Matlab to the external code. At a simpler level, you may also look at one old proceeding "TECHNIQUES ADOPTED IN INTEGRATING STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS WITH NUMERICAL OPTIMIZATION" available at https://www.researchgate.net/publication/262379877_TECHNIQUES_ADOPTED_IN_INTEGRATING_STRUCTURAL_ANALYSIS_WITH_NUMERICAL_OPTIMIZATION
As far as I know there is no freeware to do that.

Thank you very much for your detailed explanations. Codes shown at your paper are definitely usable and efficient. And I am also using similar codes for FEA of truss. But in wind offshore we need to add many parameters, which requires FEDEM Windpower software or similar one.
Can any one like to do collaborative work by sharing his software? What do you think?
I wold be glade if you please share your view.
