I agree with all of you. As a researcher I am happy, because I try to find something useful, but sometimes I am not very happy, because I have no enough time for my family.
Atun - Happiness is difficult to define because it means something different to each individual person. However, there are three main things that make people happy: close relationships, a job or past-time that they love and helping others. On the other hand, money and material things do not have a lot to do with happiness, and people who emphasize them are less happy than those who do not.
Yes, doing research makes a researcher happy because research is giving and sharing and helping. A good research publication published in a reputed journal or publisher leads to life satisfaction, appreciation of life, moments of pleasure, but overall it has to do with the positive experience of emotions.
Not exactly. When I'm busy with research my reply is "YES". Since I spent most of my professional life with administrative tasks, I could not concentrate on research as much as I wanted.
Not all the time especially confronting with multiple research "roadblocks" & lonely research journey. But thank God, granted me the companions of passion & perseverance - they help me in completing my every research with joys.
Yes. I have the opportunity to take part in research which I like: search things that interest me, find new things in my field of study, disseminate it in anyway. All these help me be happy.
It is true that under different circumstances I could have been happier. However, I could have been (even a lot) unhappier too.
If what I’m doing is going well and contributing something however small(and it usually is something small!)then I’m happy.
When things get in your way or funding and lack of support etc occur then it becomes much harder and can seriously impact how I feel about what I’m doing
I guess that also applies to everyday work when you’re prevented from doing as much or as well as you’d wish.
Yes, I am a happy teacher. I love teaching very much. I like the process of teaching and learning, I also like learning from my students. Research brings happiness and challenges to me. Sometimes we have too much to do that we streess ourselves, but we feel fine after meeting our goals.
Yes, I'm an happy researcher, because it just depends on me, and I allow myself all innovations. There's nobody to tell me I should not do the research or do it the "normal" way. The bad point is I'm a dictatorial boss with me and it's difficult for me to stop.
I can tell you that I am a happy researcher because it depends on me and my effort. I also think that the best feeling of a researcher these when someone encourages you to do innovation and not be satisfied with the work of others.
Between us, the best feeling is when a job is published and colleagues tell you "Congratulation" or "A very good job" noting that when you were realized you never had help. it remains an opinion my dear researcher.
Any researcher remains all the time happy as he cannot afford to restrict his mind & keep any tension ,worries , & frustration . Research should remain all the time impartial ,I believe that Research is for also imparting the knowledge for their co researcher for exchanging their views which may help the readers for the benefit & also for their guideline . It is in this line sometimes back I have expressed the similar views which I submit herewith for your kind perusal .
For any research , researcher imparts his experience & knowledge of course for his own proficiency & also to submit to the academic institute for acquiring higher academic performance .
Apart from his own benefit for his knowledge research always helps the university students for their own learning & also for their knowledge & apart from this certain research which may be different areas just as Pharmacy , Medicine, Food Technology & such other areas research may imparts benefits to the consumer .
The theoretical or more applied research that I have been developing to date has always made me feel full and has been an incentive to continue advancing on this path ... "The effort is the price you have to pay to achieve a dream."
I really enjoy research activities because I love to explore different issues to be investigated so that both industry and academic world can be benefited. Moreover, research activities allow me to meet new people to make new networks specially with academicians around the world. Furthermore, accomplishment if a research paper gives an excellent satisfaction and creates a legacy that really amazing for me. Therefore, I can say I am very happy with research activities.
I am a very happy researcher in issues of development (poverty, livelihoods, conflicts over resources, etc....), and the challenges, at times experienced as roadblocks, give inspiration, motivation and incentive to overcome them. This surely was different when I started with first research efforts more than 30 years ago. Then I was less patient, and at times really extremely frustrated and unhappy when things did not work out as they should. Today I know that no research turns out as drafted in the office.
Research is such a profession where you cannot remain happy or sad for longtime. These moments uses to come and go but nothing sustained for longtime. Only the things which researcher need to do is to complete focusing on research. And try to develop a habits of being happy happy
I still claim that I am a happy researcher. It is great to go to the field, collect information from people, organize focus group discussion session, analyse the date collected and work on research papers. At times things must happen in a rush and this might also affect my happiness, but basically I am very happy with doing research....

Happy when I am working an Independent researcher. Unhappy when thinking as dependent researcher. But I felt worst when someone do not have any contributions in that particular resesech but enjoying the benefits as a part too.
If a man in his professional work self-realizes, perfects, achieves successes, then he is satisfied with his work and feels happy and fulfilled professionally. Similarly, a scientist, researcher or discoverer may feel if he is successful in his profession, he is appreciated, gradually develops his research potential and the authority of a specialist in a given field of knowledge if the interesting research results after publication are read by many other scientists and create new added value for learning, etc.
Happyness is the state of mind. We should be happy and thankful to God for all his blessing. Yes, I am very happy and always thankful to God for all my research activities.
When a researcher see under the microscope one organism, observe it carefully and discover something new, I think it is one of the happiest moment in his life.
Thank you Dr B K Sharma to become agree with me, it is really very happy moment for any taxonomist to observe an interesting organism under the microscope. This happiness sometimes may not be expressed only by words, it comes from real love with microscopic world.
