For me the main measure is the results implemented in the practice. Sometimes the path to implementation is longer and goes through a series of research and publications.
Of course, the number of publications, the number of citations (and H-index), and the research funding is very important. Besides such metrics, It must be pay more attention to peer review (both internal and external).
Completed important projects, articles published in important journals, citations and especially h-index. Maybe not objective but receiving important awards in the field. I think one of the significant feature is training a young team.
agree with Teodora Hristova Mohd Rafi mohd solleh The main success factor could be the applicability and acceptability of the research findings by the scientific community as we as general people. When a research makes positive changes in the society (directly or indirectly) or has potentials for the same is a great research, indeed.
One of the criteria for success is to contribute to solving a problem that the society suffers from. The research is also published in magazines with good impact factor, and the research is accepted by the largest number of specialists in the field of research.
Its progress and innovation in the field of scientific research and its concomitant with the new scientific developments and its success in its work and successful relations in its work
Meaure of success for a researcher; for me, research must brought, Positive impact in terms of improving quality of life of individuals, groups, families and communities.
-The research productivity: published reports and papers
- The ability to attract research interest: grants, institutional or individual collaborators, students or interns in your project, citations from your outputs
- The involvement in translation of research findings to influence practice or policy
- The contribution to developing research capacity of individuals or institutions
I think a successful researcher in his/her life time is if during his/her research life one can motivate atleast a single person to undertake research as a career. Also, if one can clearly help others to identify the practical hurdles one faces during the course of research tenure for help tackling such obstacles for achieving desired research objectives on time.
Measure of success of a good researcher depends on so many factors as number of research scholars working under, number of post graduate and Ph.D. thesis guidance, number of good research papers published, number of research projects/ consultancy projects ongoing and completed and giving a good environment with facilities to conduct research.
Through authentic research and studies with a positive impact on the problems of society, and through the professional process of teaching in the undergraduate and postgraduate studies, success leadership career path
The measure of real success, in my opinion, depends on the degree of exploitation of the researcher to his abilities, and the extent of his benefit from the multiple opportunities available in the field of scientific research.
