Are there any known markers whose expression changes significantly upon phagocytosis in macrophages? So you could simply check it's expression and tell which of the cells engulfed something?
The only example I found in the literature is CD68, but it was reported in this regard only for microglia. I am working with mouse BM macrophages and it would be great if there was such marker for them as well.
Can you point me to any paper where they would show this for non-microglia?
Do you know how fast it goes up after the phagocytosis?
I need to look at macrophages from mice that were injected with target cells week or so ago. Staining won't live this long and for some other reason I can't overexpress a fluorescent marker in target cells.
oh I know. I am a green hand in my research field. I wanna know whether you have tried to detect and contrast the expression of some pattern-recognition receptor that mediate endocytosis, such as mannose receptor(MR), CD14, scavenger receptor(SR)?
Whether the quantities of them can be up-regulated when phagocytosis?!
