Are the LDH values right?

We did LDH assay for hepatic cells and we did the calculations using the following formula for the readings.

% Cytotoxicity =

Compound-treated LDH activity – Spontaneous LDH activity× 100

Maximum LDH activity – Spontaneous LDH activity

We got compound treated LDH values less than spontaneous LDH activity values.so the final calculation comes in negative.Is this correct ?If not how should we expect the values.
