I am looking for a buffer composition other than MES buffer to carry out an EMSA. I need to maintain a low pH for a ligand binding assay, since the ligand believed to be effective in the pH range of 5-6. Can anyone suggest me of a solution for this.
Citrate or acetate.

Phosphate-citric buffer, pH=5,5
disodium phosphate (Na2HPO4 ) 1,61 g
citric acid ( HOOC-CH₂-CCOOH-CH₂-COOH ) 0,91 g
H20 to V=100 ml
Thank you very much Adam and Antonina.
