Hello!
i want to perform Delamination buckling growth in laminated composites using cohesive elements..
my model consist of two plates with 1e-6 thickness of cohesive element layer
i use offset mesh method to create an orphan mesh of thickness 1e-6 from one part and and shared its node with that part and assigned it cohesive material properties after that i tie this cohesive layer with the upper part,,,,
but in the paper i follow it say that u should create a PRE delamination region whose nodes are not shared with any of the parts,,,
as i create an orphan mesh of cohesive layer i can NOT do partition on it,
i would be thankful if some one could send me a file or view how to model the PRE-DELAMINATION REGION

maybe you can use the Predefined option in Engineering module.

I am still beginner in ABAQUS. I got what you mean, but I do not have enough information about your topic as mine is totally different. I am dealing with composite beams.

Thank u sir....in video he used 3 parts and a 2d parts ...I want to do it in 3d modeling using zero thickness cohesive elements. ..my only problem is how to create that Predelamination area so the buckling start from there and then propegate through coheaive elements. .
