Thiostrepton and Viomycin are the only two candidates under the consideration. Is anyone know extent of translocation inhibition of these antibiotics in terms of the following:
1. >90-99% ribosomes are in the pre-translocation step.
2. Peptidyl transferase activity is unimpaired or apparently unchanged.
3. tRNA in A, P and E sites are present to the greater extent in the inhibited ribosome.
