Dear Abdullah, betalains from beet roots have significant antioxidant properties through the direct elimination of free radicals and in the restoration of the balance of redox processes in the body. Another important characteristic of betalains is their ability to decrease COX-2 expression in vitro. I attached one of my works in this area. See also "Moreno-Ley C. et al.
