Alternatives to Qiagen tissue lyser?

Hi,

I have previously used a Qiagen Tissue Lyser to lyse bacteria. Now I'm considering using a vortex (up to 3000 rpm equivalent of 50 Hz). Has anyone swapped between the two, and what is your experience?
