To determine the first component in the PCA method in SPSS
Question1 :
Can the determination of the first to fifth components be extracted from the SPSS Communalities table?
explain:
I mean each of them has more Extraction, that's the first component and so on until the fifth component..
In my results "Communalities table" the Extraction of variables are as:
X1 / Extraction= /586
X2 /Extraction= /651
X3 / Extraction= /453
X4 / Extraction= /593
X5 / Extraction= /556
.
So can I conclude that...
first component is X2, Because the extraction of x2 is /651
And
the second component is X4, whose extraction is /593
And in order to the end..
Is this analysis correct ??
.
Question2 :
In the total variance table. the number 1, mean first component with the more variance, is it the same variable X2 that has the most extraction ??
.
Question 3 :
after determining the first to fifth principal components..
How can I set the maximum weight for the first to fifth components respectively ??
For example:
for the first component of weight .4
the second component .3 and so on ..
I need this to build a hybrid index with weighting based on the principal component method.
Thanks.
