I'm preparing materials that will be use in SOL-GEL to produce silica gel, I will use Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as precursor, and ethanol as solvent , but when I search to buy ethanol, the companies provide different types and grades of ethanol, grades like EP,AL,GR,AR.. and different name like ethyl alcohol 99.5%, ethyl alcohol anhydrous 99.9%, ethyl alcohol 95% denatured..etc.
So please if any one can tell me what the suitable ethanol should be used in this case Thanks in advance
@ Mohammad, I think you should use AR grade of ethyl alcohol having 99.5% purity.

dear An Giang Nguyen , I think there is no big difference in the price, in this case you think Ethyl alcohol, anhydrous, 99.9% better than Ethyl alcohol, 99.5% ?
