Hi, I hope that someone can help me with this task: I have 5 groups of participants which are numbered in SPSS from 1 to 5 (according to their group number) and are all under the variable group. How do I find the mean, SD and CI of each group?

Use the following: data > split file > organize output by groups
Now, obtain descriptives as you normally would and the output should have each groups' statistics computed separately based on the grouping variable you specified.

*If you run into problems, you'll likely need to specify that the grouping variable is a 'string' not 'numeric'. An alternative is to simply give each group a non-numeric designation (e.g., Group A, Group B, Group C.....)

Follow the path shown below in SPSS for computing descriptive statistics for each category/group. You need to put your variables (for which you want descriptive statistics) to dependent variables box and put your participants group variable to factor box and run it.
Analyze>Descriptive>Explore
