I tried to prepare chromium alum by ox-red reaction between K2Cr2O7 and ethanol in presence of H2SO4. The result is always a green liquid that dont crystallize. I have found that the reaction must happen at 10°C.

Why we must keep the temperature at 10 ° C when crystallizing chromium alum ?
