i have noticed that the in- vitro anticancer activities of my plant extract and an isolated compound differ on different cell lines....... what could be the reason behind?
mode of the action and targeted position of the signaling pathway is different in each cell line. that's why we should use different reference drugs for each cell line (Etoposide, Doxorubicin etc.) you can compare your results with reference drugs not compare the cell lines

thank you all...... im using doxorubicin as reference drug/positive control on hela, mcf-7 and hepg2 cell line... can someone recommend a paper on the signalling pathway for these cell lines as well as mode of action for doxorubicin
One reason many use single compounds is that they are easier to prove activity. But multi compound extracts can mean less side effects when using extracts in vivo.
