Caco-2 cells were seeded in transwell (Polyester Membrane, Growth Surface Area 1.12 cm2, 0.4 mm pore size, Corning, Cat. No. 3460). The transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) was measured using a Millicell-ERS Voltohmmeter (Millipore) and the alkaline phosphatase in the cell culture medium was determined.
