Dear Imam,

please check the attached website. They have a beautiful tutorial for all the do's and don'ts for DSS induced colitis. Accordingly, I'd advise to use C57BL/6 over BALB/c as BALB/c mice only develop DSS induced colitis with high dose dextran sulphate.
