My understanding is that aging is an oxidation process involving oxygen. In engineering, the process is called corrosion. I heard that some foods; like carbohydrates( especially the sweet things) accelerate aging. Some other food may do the opposote by hindering aging. For example, when I lived in Japan, I realized that people look younger than their age ( comparing to other countries). Maybe something in their diet(raw fish, green tea, seaweed leaves) may hinder aging .
I agree with you. Let me just tell you that I learned a lot about chemical engineering after learning from other fields of science. There is a lot of analogies between the different fields of science. By learning from others ; we make the angle of our understanding wider and we become wiser. The most important is to be always open to learn. We don't know what kind of neural networks this information will be adding in our brain.
