I injected cancer cells to mice as xenografts. After 7 days, I injected tamoxifen together with an inhibitor of interleukin to nude mice subcutaneously. But 2 days later, the tumor site turned to the follows. I don't know why it turns like this. It's like skin burnt and the tumor disappeared.
Is it a technical problem or related to the drug?
It looks like a necrotizing issue. The only time I've seen this in my experiments (not on nude mice) was because of a bacterial skin infection.
Where did you inject subcue? Was it at a different site then the xenograph?

Thanks for your information. Yes, I inject subcutaneously and adjacent to the tumour. Is it inappropriate to inject subcutaneously?
No, subcue is completely fine... I was just wondering if it was the subcue injection that was causing it or if it was some other unknown cause that's related to the xenograph. (Usually we do our subcue at the base of the tail...)
And if the lesion looks like what it looks like on the photo where there is clear loss of skin tissue... then it's probably some sort of skin infection. And since it's at the spot where the xenograph was... then the loss of the patch of skin will cause disappearance of the tumor. If you wait longer... the loss of skin will continue to grow. But again... this has only been my experience when working with mice.
I would double check that your subcue injection cocktail is completely sterile.
You can also biopsy the site and the edges of the skin loss for histology.
