The Global Meteoric Meteoric Line has a slope of 8. But the local meteoric water line generally shows a slope of less than 8 which is associated with evaporation effect. Why does this happen?
What a fascinating question. it seems that we are at the early stages of understanding this topic, but what potential for understanding the climatic magic of cloud formation and precipitation. The biggest issue is lack of data, hopefully this will improve now. The slope seems to vary widely but reasons unknown!
