Why does my silver stain result in this strange line across the top of the gel?

I used the Pierce Silver Stain kit, a Criterion XT 4-12% Bis-Tris Precast Gel, and fresh MES running buffer. The gel was run at 200V for ~45 minutes. Samples were denatured in DTT.

This is from a pilot run so I'm looking to improve the quality and clarity of the stain moving forward. The ladder is definitely overfilled, but I'm stuck on why that strange line appears at the top... Thank you!
