the pH of the pesticide in distilled water is neutral
the pH of nanocomposite is also neutral
then why maximum degradation takes place at pH10
the main question, I want to ask why degradation is pH dependent
Due to varying interaction between catalyst and pollutant in different medium, medium pH plays a significant role in photodegradation process as surface properties get changed on pH variation. As in acidic medium, solution becomes positively charged so interact with more negatively charged surface and vice versa.

Besically there are two mechanisms of this degradation first is adsorption and second is photo degradation.
In adsorption the respective ions first bound to adsorbent surface at certain pH and facilities to increase the interaction between opposite charged species like pollutant and hence adsorption based degradation increased at specific pH.
On the other hand, during the photo degradation, by increasing the respective charge of the solution the probability of free radicals reactions is increased and thus photo degradation of pesticides increased.
Because the pH is the main parameter that affected the pesticides degradation reaction.
