Why attenuation coefficient of some metals with higher Z are lesser than that for some others lower Z? e.g: Cu&Zr, Fe&Ag, at E=17.5 KeV17?

Z: is atomic number

Cu/ Z=29, Zr/ Z=40, Fe/ Z=26, Ag/ Z=47

It depends on the photon energy as well, not just the Z.

The K-edge energy for Cu is 9 keV, while for Zr is 18keV, therefore Cu absorb more at 17.5 keV than Zr, but it flips over if you compare them above 18 keV.

Same for Fe (7.1 keV) and Ag (25.5 keV)
