I need to use quantitative electron tomography technique to study and model carbon nano tubes into polymer matrix. I am completely a new user for electron microscopy technique. I came to know through literature that the three techniques equally are employed and not been able to make a clear difference.My samples contain carbon nano tubes embed in a polymer matrix.
ADF STEM would give contrast on the basis of average Z, the beam should be focused for this method. Polymer matrix and carbon nano tube would be disturbed seriously. BFTEM and HRTEM would give decent results relatively,since it is having parallel beam illumination. For interface studies HRTEM is preferred
Thanks @ Thangam Muniyandi -Thanks for suggestion....Yeh, The preliminary literature survey suggests that ADF.TEM or HHADF-TEM are preferable in cases where relatively high contrast fillers are used. Basiccally, my study concerned with the three dimensional network embed in the polymer phase.Since polymer also contain carbon atoms (and carbon nano tubes as filler), there emerges a low contrast issue and before going to do experiments i have reservations to select right technique. Can you me a bit more about BF-TEM in terms of improving the low contrast, maximum tilt angle acquire and sample preparation.
