Homo- or heterobifunctional crosslinkers were sparsely reported in the literature as putative fixatives for immunolocalization microscopic studies. Does anybody have information on which crosslinker is cell permeable and which one is not? I am particularly interested in EDC, NHS and sulfo-NHS but also in others that may be used as fixatives.
Here is a pretty good resource for evaluating various crosslinkers. I've been looking at them for Immunoprecipitation of a transient interaction. I've tried DSP, and it works great in unfixed cells.
