Also you can use 4T1 cell line for highly aggressive metastatic cancer tumour model.
I used MB231 cells implanted orthotopically in SCID mice, it is a really good model. 4T1 is a very aggressive murine triple-negative breast cancer cell line. The advantage is that this cell line is metastasizing very fast to the lungs and is very convenient to study metastasis. Also, you don't need SCID mice for 4T1, you may implant those cells into BALB/c mice. Thus it is much cheaper.
The metastasis process in NOD/SCID is highly artificial. Hence, I agree with Vilma to use BALB/c. Not only because it is cheaper, but also much closer to the real situation.
