" When working with serum and plasma the candidates are typically chosen based on the literature or pre-existing data (e.g.
qPCR panel screening). Hsa-miR-93-5p, hsa-miR-103-5p, hsa-miR-191-5p, hsa-miR-423-3p, and hsa-miR-425a are available on Exiqon’s Serum/plasma Focus microRNA PCR Panel as candidate reference genes. These are typically medium to highly expressed and may be stably expressed, but their potential use as reference genes needs to be evaluated on a study-to-study basis."
I am trying to find which circulating miRNA, if any , can be used for diagnosis and prognosis of Alzheimer ... I tried mir-22 and mir-126 as endogenous reference miRNAs but they were too variable, will try miR-93-5p, hsa-miR-103-5p, and mir-191-5p etc as you suggest , thanks a lot to everybody marcella
if you find a miRNA that is steadily expressed in your samples at the same expression level (for example the same Ct in Real Time PCR) between case and control samples...you have your miRNA endogenous control useful for normalization! This is true above all for circulating miRNA in serum and plasma.
