I am trying to start a protocol involving bilateral cannula implantation in specific brain regions in mice (mPFC, hippocampus). For that, I need to buy an anesthesia system. I found many alternative companies to buy from, but I am particularly interested in MINERVE 1301303. I am also considering WPI EZ-B800 or Kent Scientific SomnoSuite® Low-Flow Anesthesia System. Can anyone give me feedback about these anesthesia systems? Maybe you have other recommendations? I will be grateful for all suggestions.

Pentobarbital containing solutions are widely used for that kind of surgery (i.p., Nembutal, Euthasol, etc.). The stock solution usually should be diluted with physiological saline in 9:1 ratio or according to the manual.

Dear Karolina, isoflurane is much better. I currently use the VSS (Vaporizer Services) ISOTECH4 or New 300 Series. I like the New 300 Series, especially coupled with the scavenging system that insures all of the isoflurane gets evacuated. I am unsure as to why a system wouldnt fit your needs though it is pretty standard.
