Despite of the deceleration on the increasing speed of population in developed countries, the world's population has been increasing day by day.
Where/when do you think that increasing is going to continue until?
Actually, the issue of decreasing the population is secondary to promoting well-being, civility, health and education for all.
The rise of political extremism, xenophobia, corruption, anti-globalization movements, and obscurantism (e.g., the Earth is plain) are some of the obstacles disturbing the human being everywhere.
Balance and wisdom must guide our decisions locally and throughout international affairs.

I agree partly with Anastas Ivanov Ivanov 's thought. It is not only food sources that are decisive here. Other factors that provide vitality are also important. I think water resources are the most limiting factor today. Due to the continuous pollution of the water, it will become more difficult to reach potable water with each passing day. Also, there will be a decrease in water resources due to global warming. The reduction in water availability will also reduce food production. A population will grow as long as there are appropriate environmental conditions (air, water, food, light, radioactivity, intra-species and inter-species competition, hunting-hunter relationship, etc.) in these conditions, the growth of the population stops as soon as it starts to go bad and begins to decline. After these explanations, I think that the world population will develop in a minus way growth ratio in the very near future. Because the resources in the world are rapidly consumed or polluted.
The conventional projection by the UN is that world population, currently 7.7 billion, will increase to 11.2 billion in 2100, then stabilize before slowly declining. Fertility rates are in dramatic decline worldwide and world population may peak below nine billion by 2050 and then decline.
I agree with Hassan Izzedin Sarsak, it tends to decline in a long run. Aging, a stressful life, low mentality rates and economic factors will eventually make the population decrease. The automation will also cause a rupture of society as we know.

There are several scenarios where the world population decreases rapidly but none of them are good (nuclear war, severe famine,, epidemics of deadly diseases etc.) assuming we avoid this type of disaster population most likely continue to rise for at least another 50 to 100 years.

The increase will continue ad infinitum until one of the following occurs: (1) the world runs out of food and water, (2) massive destruction by say a meteor strike or a nuclear war, (3) global warming to the extreme causing the events cited in (1) above
The median estimate for future growth sees the world population reaching 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion by 2100.

Even a conservative estimate of 10 billion (until 2100; 2 charts at the end of the text) will create energy bottlenecks, i.e. energy efficiency will become a question of human survival on this planet, which can only be circumvented by human ingenuity or creativity.

I don't think that population growth will stop unless developing and undeveloped countries reach the level of developed countries. This also seems difficult recently.
