There's a great review from Nat Rev Genetics in 2010 written by Michael Metzker which provides an overview of all second-gen sequencing platforms. There's an explanation of SOLiD sequencing under the sequencing-by-ligation section
Basically it ligates a sequencing primer and then fluorescently labelled 2 bp "probes" are ligated on to the primer, extending the sequence information. Different sequencing primers that hybridize at slightly different positions are used to initiate the process in each "round" of sequencing. This allows for the overall accuracy to be high as each base is "interrogated" or "sequenced" by multiple 2 bp probes of known sequence.
Another possibility would be to regist to SOLID Community. There, you can ask questions and discuss with the other members. You can also, from there get many doucements on SOLID sequencing technologies.
