Thanks for sharing the question, as I understand the RG Score is a metric that procedures scientific contribution, and based on how all of your research is received by your peers, as well your questions and answers contribution.
RG score update is carried out weekly from Sunday to Sunday and the updated scores appear on Monday afternoon. I was curious like you so I monitored it for a few weeks.
Each Monday you will have a new RG Score, this score is about all your scientific history. The evaluation covers all your history. If your activity is high the last week it is normal that your score goes up after that week.
I think that the last week score takes in account the last weeks for computing the present one. Because there is not a direct relation between increasing recommendations and increasing RG score weekly.
To see your RG score before being updated or even displayed, you can go to 'info' then 'Export your profile as a CV', the downloaded docx file will have your information including your current RG score.
The RG Score is calculated once a week, so if you've added publications and your score has not yet changed, please be patient. It's also relative, it can go up or down depending on the activity and scores of other ResearchGate members. This means it takes the scores and interactions of every researcher into account to give a relative rating of your contributions.
To improve your RG Score:
Share anything from negative results to raw data or full-fledged publications
Create a project, or add an update to your existing project(s)
Ask a question or give another researcher a helpful answer
Follow other researchers
Comment on and recommend your peer's research, projects, and questions
Please also make sure that any articles published in journals are correctly linked to the journal they were published in.
If you add a publication to your account, then your score will be updated in a day or two. But the reading statistics etc come every Tuesday, morning GMT.
I have added my recent publication from 'Materials Science and Engineering C' one week back, but still my RG Score remains unchanged. Please let me know why?
RG Score is calculated based on any contribution you share on ResearchGate or add to your profile, such as published articles, unpublished research, projects, questions, and answers.
Your RG Score will only be activated and displayed when it reaches a minimum of 1. If you've just signed up and confirmed authorship of a significant number of publications, please be patient, as the score is only updated once per week.
Monday for sure, exact timing is not known. But if you update your publication in late Sunday night, it may not be updated in the immediate Monday sometimes. Publication updated in any other day of the week will be updated on the following Monday.
The cumulative impact factor of journals in which my research articles were published is "16.581" as per 2017 list....but why my RG score is only 12.98 ???
