I have prepared Fe/AC and Fe/Co/AC catalysts through Incipient Wetness Impregnation (IWI) for Fischer-Tropsch process.
How to determine the calcination temperature for the prepared catalysts?
Is there any method based on Thermogravimetry?
Anyone please give me your valid suggestions.
You can check what is the temperature of decomposition by TGA analysis.
Temperature at which your material is decomposing, choose that temperature for calcination.
and most of reported carbon material was calcined at 300-800 or more than that, for 2-5 hr.

As colleague Amravati said, you can determine the calcination temperature by TGA analysis. Make sure you are doing the analysis using nitrogen atmosphere.
Anyway, i have calcined similar materials (iron oxide over carbon black) at 350 ºC for 2 hours in N2 atmosphere. Using an inert atmosphere you shouldn´t have problemas

I have made the thermogravimetric analysis for the support (Activated carbon). It doesn't show any weight loss upto 600 deg. C. Can i calcine the material at 600?
What about time? Does time really has any impact on active component migration or any other ?
I think time probably has some effect in the calcination and the final form of your catalyst. For example, at this temperature iron could suffer sinterization processes. Thus, i recomend you follow some procedure found in the literature. If there are no studies in literature...maybe it is a good oportunity to begin a new investigation ;)

Yes u can calcined at 600 degree and time variation u can do ...normally in literature time was 3 to 5 hr.....so u also keep for 3 hr ....I usually prefer 3 hr
