I am planning on immobilising alpha-V beta-6 and am debating whether it would be best to buy (not sure where from) His- or GST-tagged dimer or to immobilise a lipid membrane that expresses the integrin.

I suppose it would depend on whether the integrin is in an active conformation in the absence of a lipophilic membrane, or if the presence of the membrane is required for an active conformation. What would be the best way to do this?
