Dear researchers,
Why specific capacitance is not proportional to the specific surface area? I have material A with a surface area higher than material B, but material B is showing little bit higher specific capacitance than material A?
What could be the reason of this contradiction ??

Specific capacitance of what? Solvated lithium ions? In this case its not unusual for nitrogen or carbon dioxide to access small micropores that are simply too small for a solvated lithium ion.
Dear Martin A Thomas , thank you for your answer, i was talking about supercapacitors made of carbon materials(EDLC), i found that my specific surface area (SSA) measurements were wrong, and i corrected them.
also i found in literature that this disproportion does exist, i.e; material A with higher SSA than material B can give lower specific capacitance than material B.
