Hello
I am currently working with Geobacter sulfurreducens, an anaerobic bacterial strain which requires special media (NBAF) and conditions (N2:CO2::80:20 and 30 degreeC) to grow.
It is my first time working with anaerobes and I prepared the media as instructed, have an anaerobic box ready and was also able to successfully grow the cells.
However, the cells grew to an OD (600 nm) of 0.28 after 5-7 days of incubation.
This is the only OD observed no matter how many time I grow them. Some articles mention a maximum OD (600nm) of 0.3-0.4 and some say this is mid-exponential and show that the bacteria can also grow as high as 0.6-1.2 OD.
I would really appreciate if anyone who has experience of working with any strain of this bacteria help me with this issue.
Also, if anyone has performed or has any recommendations/articles for growth of Geobacter in 96-well plate?
Thank you in advance for your replies:)
