We would like to find some prospective plasma biomarkers which, if determined after radiotherapy, can be correlated with a later vascular event or atherosclerosis in patients undergoing radiotherapy of the chest (breast cancer, lymphomas), including the heart. Cardiac troponin T has the best sensitivity and specificity for myocardial necrosis.
Dear Scott J Cameron, we are interested in a marker which can show early vascular damage, which in time can lead to coronal atherosclerosis and its complications.
This then is a different issue and much harder to study (in terms of specificity and sensitivity). Consider early plasma markers of endothelial cell activation and inflammation, and platelet recruitment including: vWF, p-selectin, PF4, and myeloperoxidase.

I agree with Scott J Cameron on vWF, p-selectin, PF4 and myeloperoxidase, hs-CRP, but I would add hs-troponin and eventually also BNP
As regard heart biomarker and chest RT, I would suggest to give a look at
N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide plasma levels as a potential biomarker for cardiac damage after radiotherapy in patients with left-sided breast cancer.
