Lung adenocarcinome cell lines usually expresses CD44 variant isoform, however, it is difficult to find cell lines with CD44 standard isoform other than A549.
All of these (see below) cell lines have very high levels of CD44, however I am not sure if it's the variant or the standard isoform. Maybe worth checking.
It might be informative for you to know the 2 cell lines lack of CD44 expression (neither CD44s nor CD44v); LNCaP prostate cancer cell line and MKN-28 gastric cancer cell line (note that MKN-28 is no longer available in ATCC).
In the case of A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell lines, only CD44s is expressed. CD44v exon is not detectable in semi-quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting.
