The human experience is one, both in history and global latitude. Many speak today of globalization in terms of recent impact of free-moving capital on labor across borders, as if globalization had not truly been with us ever since Christopher Columbus set foot in the Americas, having toppled the border of the Atlantic Ocean and set the stage for cross-Atlantic trade and “labor mobility”. The role of Knowledge in putting the peoples of the earth face to face with one another has undeniably resulted in a contest between thirst for gain, culture and traditions. It is not clear at times where this mix of the human experience is heading, especially on the heels of the latest developments in life sciences, and the quests at the sharp edges of fundamental physics as well. I argue in this writing that the line from scientific Knowledge to Higher Consciousness to Greater Wisdom represents the axis to the Ascent of Men in the course of human evolution as a single trend.

In earthly terms, Henry George has given a good account of the human experience in his book:Progress and Poverty. Today, this would mean to tax economic rent and to combine it with a citizen's dividend, like Thomas Paine envisioned. Concerning values, only love and compassion can connect the many separated bodies in humanity, which practically means: mutual existential guarantees. The mentioned maths in your beautiful text can help us to validate problems internally;
the shaping of life itself is done by external validation, e.g. careful field research and work. The best future investment program is the holistic healing of men.

How do you see the connection between the business of farming and the matter of space travel and/or harnessing space in general? Is there for you a continuum between the two? Someone told me a few years ago in discussing cosmology and space travel that “we cannot send unemployment to space”. I thought it was an interesting comment. But again I do remember in my childhood experience growing up in the back country how important it was for small farmers to plant theirs seeds at the correct moon phase depending on the kind of crop. Is this the only possible "vanguard" connection that a traditional farmer can entertain with the stars? Or is big agro-business like the Monsanto ahead in this game via utilization of satellite technology, in terms of soil moisture monitoring, weather monitoring, etc.? What you think?
Joseph Jean-Claude Futuristics is an important tool to imagine alternative pathways of human growth and development. Yes, agro-business is the most industrialized sector of human economic activity, and it makes no sense to send poverty to space. I do think that the next meta-economic cycle will be about the holistic healing of men, and that investments will finally be channelled into this socio-medical direction; astro- and chrono-biological laws of harmony will be an essential part of this futuristic agenda to balance technical and humanitarian systems.

I find that what is interesting about our civilization is the several different grounds from which human advancement is being sketched. There is the road to advancement from a livelihood of farming to vibrant urban living. In Marxian historic analysis (to which I don't subscribe), this road ultimately leads to the communist state thru the capital economic regime. There is the road to advancement from a livelihood in deep seclusion, i.e. in the deep secluded forest such as entertained by Amerindians in the Amazon, to a regime of contact or integration with outer “civilization”. Even though in many cases, there is a rejection of the “civilized world” following the experience of such contact. Then there is of course the experience of urbanism thru the capital economic regime which is banking on technological innovation for advancement in the material order. Fair to say that the consensus thus far is that there is not more value in one form of living and intrinsic individual worth than any other because the human soul seems to be everywhere the same in its thirst for more enlightenment and empowerment, better handle on fate, life and its mysteries. In other words, a deep aspiration for the higher Heavens seems to be the common denominator globe-wide. I think I can safely say that Consciousness or the squint level of Consciousness is the great equalizer of the human condition throughout the very diverse global culture.
In this context, I wonder how should one take the story of Prahlad Jani, a hindu or Indian national who lives in complete isolation in the forest in natura, according to Western news media a few years ago, and who claims the most unusual relationship with mother Nature even in its Cosmic dimensions and subsequent unusual bodily abilities thereof.

Joseph Jean-Claude Many thanks for sharing the Yogi video, Joseph. Scientific methodology should stay open and connect to real life; there are much more scientific anormalities, which dogmatic and rigid methods cannot catch. The internal validation by maths or logic should always be combined with the external validation by field research work. The whole world is a laboratory, and I also count on conscious social evolution, to develop 'deeper aspiration for the higher heavens', to cite you here.
Morals and ethics are the wright basis of everything. Huge and tremendous references in morality are available all along with mankind presence on earth, the challenge is how to apply and implement such rules, real effective implementation not faking and pretending !!!
Human does not follow any system though it made many system.here even if same input ,premises and process but output may different. e.g if you say to a lady , mam you are looking beautiful today. she may reply thank you but same lady if you other may be she will scold you. so always treat human as special to lead for development. learn when to lead from front and when to operate from back.

The human's progress never went and will never develop smoothly. I am sure that there is something which at the moment is hidden from us but will be uncovered in future and dramatically change our lives
The main contradiction I see in nowadays world culture is GIP (gross interior product) is a tool invented by US Americans for US Americans (in order to avoid another great depression). As far they won WWII, they used their magic stick GIP to evaluate which European country was needing Marshall Plan. That's when magic GIP turned out super-magic, forcing economies to run GIP discipline, money would flow in. Marvelous example. But nowadays, no more Marshall Plan either great depression ghosts. But GIP still reigns, forcing developing countries's to stick to an economy not developed enough to integrate traditional transactions in their calculations. Apart from this, world culture existed since a very long time. In the stone age, Sardinians were selling their obsidian in the Sahara desert, in South of France, in Turkey, etc. How do you think compass came to Europe? It was invented in China to build houses following feng-shui and used by sea by the Arabs. And so on. World culture is our culture, since the very beginning, when we all came from Africa.

Stephen I. Ternyik Steve, you say: “the whole world is a laboratory”. I would add a wonderful laboratory of diversity. For me, one of the most satisfying experience in life is coexistence with different others and the discovery of the specific humanity in others, if so I can say. In this laboratory, we speak hundreds of thousands different languages, and I submit to all that the experience of speaking a different/foreign language requires from one a non-negligible level of self-identification with those other fellow humans or human groups and a certain level of absorption of their culture. I also dare say that the amount of languages that one can fluently speak is a direct expression of tolerance and open-mindedness, at least potentially. I won’t be self-congratulating here, but I happen to speak 4 languages and there are two more that I only live in regret of not having the time and opportunity to learn. Of course we can always speak English, the dominant world language, to understand each other, but there is no question that the ability to reach someone else in his/her own language and to some extent absorb his/her own culture is definitely an opportunity for oneself to grow in consciousness, or to grow beyond oneself. That is to me a road to true humanism, is it not?
My work on "Topography and General History of Algiers"(1612) was so emotive with Algerians: they had the pieces I missed to understand the puzzle, I had the book they miss (stolen by French militairies in 1830) to understand their own story. Magical.

Say you: “In essence I see life as a school whose graduates are not there to tell the story.” Indeed a very interesting way of looking at life. One of the expressions that has always struck me in the English language, of which I am not a native, is how anglo-saxons commonly refer to the dead as so and so “who has passed away”. Not dead or finished, but only passed away or went away. But again, in the French language, there is also the old expression “feu mon père” or “mon feu père”, meaning “my father who is now in flame”, an expression that is almost no longer in use in the French cultural province for the deceased. Anyone who understands Himalayan meta-physics (i.e. Lamaism) understands what that means, or even the preeminent role of fire in the rituals of Eastern religions. But it is clear that this old wisdom directly connects with the quests in today’s fundamental physics where the visualization of World Branes and super-symmetric metrics attempts to decisively probe and unravel the Invisible, this on a formal mathematical-physics basis. Could it be that Scientific Knowledge leads to no other place than Spiritual Wisdom, as the most important trend in Human experience, and the road from one to the other principal axis of mankind's evolution?

I read several of your essays, and tend to agree with your perspective on French Renaissance. I think you will agree with me in saying that today’s world is in large measure a result of the European project of global conquest inspired by thirst for gain. From Louis XIV’s court artists exploiting the Sahel’s intellectual genius to Champollion, Napoleon’s point man in “ransacking” as you would say the treasures of Ancient Egypt, as much of a scholar as he was. Of course the institutions themselves including Science and the Church were integral part of that project. The unraveling of that unsustainable project bears the name of de-colonization, one can read the charter of the American Constitution to have a sense of how nefarious this project was, for those who are not native of this continent. The United States has emerged from the European project with a different mission, although the strain of the European project is still alive in the American establishment under the cover of neo-colonialism.
Nevertheless if the European project was one of global exploitation in self-seclusion behind closed borders, the American project is one of global integration thru open migration of humans and capital into its borders. The tension between those two currents in America, closed republican conservatism and open democratic liberalism, has always been there; but no one should be mistaken about it, the main project of integration in America has always been winning grounds, and much of the face of America today is a result of a Civil War fought and won over those values of openness, tolerance and integration. Yes, neo-colonialism and inequality is still a major feature of the American experience, can be seen in any higher learning school you go to, any neighborhood you go to, and the Trumps and Trumpians that are still around. But the creed that all men are born equal and endowed with equal rights is among the very first lines of the American constitution and remains the indefectible north of this Union. For me, the perception and embrace of equality is the beginning of consciousness. It is my view that America is only a microcosm of what the world will be tomorrow. The question I still have no answer for is: is it only the appetite for individual gain and self-gratification that can effectively be the engine of human activity in the march toward grander consciousness and the achievement of a global community in harmony and peace?
Joseph Jean-Claude The fascinating 1612 book I'm translating, Dialogue of Slavery, it's all about it: how appetite ruined the golden ages, since the very beginning of our eurasian-african civilization. America is different, because most of the Europeans that invaded it were fleeing away from Europe (because of murder, religion, marriage, debts or whatever) and they tried to build a different society (quite a good job), after killing most of its original inhabitants, with roots cut off and local roots wiped off. But American English is a marvelous language, that allow you to survive just by describing the place. It's all about invention of identity, such as in Mark Twain's works.
Most people don’t realize in full awareness how dependent their lives are, biologically and experientially, on the Sun Star. We talk about mother Nature in a vague manner without realizing that she, the Sun Star, is really our Mother in Nature. Not only that the particles and precursory hydrogen atoms of which the more complex atoms that make up the first existential layer of our human bodies do all come from Her, she also provides the prime and endless light energy that keeps our human bodies, once formed, well alive thru metabolic activity, as much as relates to every other form of life in the biosphere, in particular those of our “food chain”. She is thus the alpha and the omega of life. Further, she is the owner of the most important bio-rhythm that regulates our existence from the Cosmic backdrop of what we call day and night. No one can live without the inner gravitas of this Cosmic alternation.

If indeed, and only if, yogi Prahlad Jani has lived 70 years with no ingestion of food but direct absorption of light from the mother Star, thru profound functional changes in visual perception and metabolic activity, then he would have demonstrated that human life and karyotic life in general are not primarily dependent on planet Earth, but that every human and living being is a Cosmic entity under the direct regency of the mother Star. And that life, in its bewildering diversity, is not a result of random conditions in planet Earth environment, but directly dictated by the Sun Star and nurtured by her without end.
I hold this awareness to be the most profound truth in religion, evidenced in the golden domes of mosks, the ritual turning to and around Mecca as the central celestial globe that attracts the faithful as a gravitational mandala akin to orbiting planets, as much as the elevated golden ceiling and rainbow windows of Christian Cathedrals that irradiate the grandiosity of Light and delightful colors as living manna over the faithful. Let alone the ubiquitous ritual fire in the much older religions under the Sun. Yes, I hold religion to be Cosmic culture indeed, a legacy of the Higher Spirits that came before us in the phylogenetical line. Some texts of millennia past call them the fiery Archangels!

To understand THE MEANING OF LIFE we have to discover the things that give life MEANING.
And though assorted philosophies have popped up to answer that question I think the most complete answer is provided by THE THEORY OF DUAL MORALITY.
It explains the four basic outlooks of human social activity - where our life acquires meaning:
1). Our Jobs and our understanding of the external world
2). Our family life
3). Our social life of friends and nation
4). Our spiritual life and our search "inward" for ultimate meaning.
If we feel we have made reasonable progress in each of these areas, we can be happy. If we are negligent in any one of these areas, we will feel a bit dissatisfied where it is concerned.
