THe lock file sometimes is not automatically removed when the job is re-submitted. Just delete it manually and the simulation will start.

A lock file indicates that Abaqus is processing the file in background even if you kill it. so renaming the Job does not work in most cases. But there is another possibility that some of your application file is still running in background. Use Task Manager and first kill the Abaqus file which named as (SMAXpl_SP). and than re-run your abaqus program.

go file> set work directory >
go to that path in windows explorer and delete .lck files .
This error occurs when Abuqus explains the file folder with the extension lck to remove it from the defined Dierctory work folder and delete it.
I have the same problem. But did the job continue from the point it was stopped?
