I am analysing RCC slab with 8 mm diameter steel bars embeded in concrete. The slab is two-way. While meshing it I am getting errors like the ones shown in the image attached with this question. Can you please tell me how to resolve this problem? What element type should be used?

I think this error is not about reinforcement and concrete connection. it should be about the shape of element. would you please send your concrete slab shape?

You are absolutely right. Shape of my slab is completely different. its open at the middle from top view. The shape of opening is like "Plus sign". For specific reason its been shaped as so.

You can divide your slab in 2 or 3 separate regions by using partition tool. Try manually meshing in the region containing irregular shapes and automatic mesh for rest of the parts.

in case of irregular shapes or connection with other parts that making the overall geometry to be irregular We have this message
you have 2 solutions
1st to do partition of your slab into parts that's regular and in this case need to make sure of defining interaction between them " better tie "
2nd or may you can use free meshing but need to check your results carefully
