What is the suitable pH for carbofuran in HPLC?

Dear All

Thanks a lot for your favorable reply. I am using HPLC/UV detector and I use mobile phase of acetonitrile 60 % and Water 40 % and added 1 ml/ L H3PO4 for showing good peak. The final pH of mobile phase was 2.2 and I want to know if this pH is suitable for my compound or not.

Carbofuran is not ionizable, so any pH will do. If you see bad peak shapes and you have to add phosphoric acid, it means you have some column issues probably you are using a non-endcapped column or a bad endcapped column. Except changing column, there is nothing else you can do than keep a low pH
