To my limited understanding, the crude extract of plants obtained using solvents such as ethanol and methanol are usually insoluble in water. Is this correct? If it is soluble in water, is there anyway to make it insoluble in water?
Due to covid-19, I cannot go to the lab to verify this >_< Thank you for the clarification...

Solubility of crude extract of plants in ethanol or methano. Usually glycosidic compounds are soluble in waterr . To make it insoluble in water you have to saponify (hydrolyse) to separate sugar part then it can become insoluble in water.

Many molecules dissolve in water. If you obtained the extract with ethanol, then some of the molecules can dissolve in water, and some cannot. The part that does not dissolve in water is more hydrophobic.
Depend on the polarity of components in this extract
Poar or non polar
Any way the better if you can use mix solvent ethanol : water 80:20, etc
