While working on culturing of Aspergillus Flavus, I got this dark gray fungus on one of the plates. I wish to know the name and the colony characteristics or identification factors for this fungus.
Based on the photograph it is indicating the isolate is the same and its not having the difference, it might be appearing dark because of spore density, ageing and as well as slight accumulation of water droplets.
Secondly, if you do carry out the microscopy it will help to know whether the culture is contaminated or not.
I see the apparent Aspergillus flavus colonies. As Bhavya said, "grey" fiungal colonies are not obvious in the picture. If you see them, you'll need to pick the colonioes to get a pure colony.
Your culture is highly contaminated. You need to get a pure culture first. Let me see the pure culture, as well as the microphotographs. Check Aspergillus or Penicillium species.
